The adventure has just begun, and we're nervous excited about it.

This was baby #1's first ultrasound at 6 weeks and that's the little peanut the arrow is pointing at. The midwife had to do the transvaginal ultrasound because a regular ultrasound can't detect a fetal heartbeat this early. Normally, pregnant women don't have their first pre-natal appointment until they're in their 8th or 9th week, and most OB-GYN clinics don't accept patients earlier than that unless it's an emergency case. But I went in because I thought I had miscarried after seeing blood on my bed and underwear on a Friday morning. This being my first pregnancy, imagine my panic and anxiety to see a doctor real quick. I remember crying so much by myself in the bedroom while waiting for Brandon to come home from work that morning. My poor husband had to drive back home after staying for only about an hour at work.

Thankfully, the bleeding was just from implantation (when the fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus, for y'all who don't know what it means) which is very normal, and wasn't a sign of any problem like I had feared. :)
